Only rebuilt LP12's here..... mine was originally a 82 model Afromosia with Valhalla and Ittok LVII. Then it was a Cirkused Rosenut with Ekos 1 for a while and now....only the outer platter is left Smile

HBerg, you need a new platter mate! And if your motor is original, get that changed too!

I only just acquired my LP12 recently and it's a 1988 unit. I believe it previously had an Aro and Armageddon which were removed prior to the sale. It was then rebuilt with a Valhalla/Ittok Smile

Motor is less than 6 months old. As I said, only the outer platter is left. Why should I change the platter, flatpopely? What is the difference between my 82 platter and a new one?

At the end of the day I did it purely for looks as my platter looked old. Lets face it, you have been Keel Hauled! I thought I was posh with a new Cirkus kit!

Look at the picture of my LP12. Do you think the platter looks old? No smoking or pollution and the platter looks nearly as new. I have noticed that the new platters are somewhat more shiny than the older one but I'm not sure I like them better. And if I throw out the platter there is nothing left of my first sweetheart (actually my second sweetheart, my first one was a 1979 model with an SME-arm, now playing in my sister's house with an Ittok arm) Smile

Here is my first attempt . Not a great picture but a start . I have just acquired my first LP12 which is a 86 model and I'm loving it . I'm going to listen to it for a few months before deciding whether to do a Cirkus upgrade or not .

I too had thought about going for the Cirkus upgrade but reckon I'll get myself a better PSU first. The candidates are:
