RE: DS players in a network - How does it work?
Now everything work just the way as I wanted!!
![]() SOLUTION: With my 54Mbps wireless adapter I could find the DS in the Linn GUI from time to time but never the NAS. I could access both in the network though. The same kind of problem I had when trying to configure "perfectly" with the crappy Jensen (ethernet through powerline) adapters. I could find the DS but not the NAS. I could access both in the network though. With my new 300Mbps wireless adapter I can find the DS and the NAS without any kind of problems, and the DS plays music perfect as always. QUESTIONS: How does the Linn GUI work with UPnP? Does the application require a certain quality of the UPnP signal on the applications host? Or have I just been unlucky with the combination of the D-Link Xtreme N Gigabit Router (DIR-655) and the Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network adapter (both with the latest firmware)? I hope for the latter... or I guess I will get trouble using the iPod Touch to control the DS. ![]() Christer Linn Akurate DS Chapter Audio Precis 250S Argento Audio Serenity Reference (RCA) interconnects Argento Audio Serenity Reference speaker cables |

RE: DS players in a network - How does it work?
I don't think the problem is uPnP related. Is more like TCPIP packet retransmittions which ends up in poor and inconsistent connectivity.

The configuration I use now have about 25-30 Mbps from the NAS when wired to the router. When using 54Mbps wireless modem in the same room as the DS I get about 11Mbps when copying from the NAS. I do not think that it is too much retransmittions as I tested the configuration with the DS and the NAS wired to the router. The wireless 54Mbps modem could not find the NAS. The router should be one of the best and fastes out there so a simple configuration like that SHOULD be a pice of cace. 11mbps? Sounds like the Wireless its stuck on 802.11b mode.
