Mark,
very nice pictures.
Can you explain the four markers that are glued to the perimeter of the inner platter? IMO, it is a little bit strange, the belt has to touch these markers four times per round.

Thanks

Matt

Mark,
in the meantime I read your comment on the VE forum. You are absolutely right to get rid of the tape around the inner platter and to read the signal for the control circuit from the outer platter is the way to go.
BTW, can you shed some light on the new improved arm board of the Unity Two?

Yes i am curently talking with the designer as we currently manufacture top plates it would be a v simple mod to interoperate the mounting and the new platters can have a high quality printing process applied to the inner edge we could also significantly increase the amount of datums and with a small addition to the eprom coding with would be even better i will be modifying a top plate next week and will have a prototype up and running for the next weekend and hopefully in time for the scalford show.. ps we have added more bracing to the arm-boards as the weight is still within tolerance and they are now Epoxy polymer coated on all surfaces but masked at metal to metal contact areas for maximum damping this also includes all sub chassis produced march onwards you can see the new arm-board in the pictures..
Have a good weekend... Regards Mark..

RE: Stamford DC Motor?
Hi All,
I have had a Mobar DC motor mounted in my very modified thorens TD150 with Sole subchassis the only thorens parts are bearing sub platter main platter and modified top plate. I had been using a new LP12 motor powered by a Mose/Hercules that I liked very much. But when I found out about Edmund's new DC motor I sent off a email to him to find out more.So I get one to test that I'm keeping.
I feel it is a game changer a lot lke the Radikal but for less money as speed is prefect there no noise, much lower wow when tested with Dr Feickent PlatterSpeed. So with that music just sounds right. The only thing that I don't like is the tape on the sub platter.

Indeed, we have to wait for the final version with picking up the signal for the control circuit from the outer platter like Radikal.

Yes that is something I mentioned to Gordon when he brought it in for a bake off recently. I believe this is being attended to ATM.

Regarding sound quality; Gordon's Mober Ekos VP combination deck was easily seen off by my Lingo 3, Kore, Akito LP12, so I believe they have a way to go yet.

Happy to continue evaluating improvements however and a new Mober has just arrived for me to try on one of my LP12s - It will have to wait until I've finished testing J7's arms however.
