Have you checked this out with your dealer? Could it be a problem with over-heating or insufficient ventilation? I've not had any experience of power amp overheating, but I did have problems with an AV 5103 which I eventually solved by ensuring it was properly ventilated and with at least 10 cm gap on either side as well as above it, and a 10 cm gap below between it and the next component. If you had the same problem with another amp, perhaps the location is the common issue?

I sympathise - unreliability ruins your enjoyment. Hopefully a bit of help from your dealer or the members of this forum can help you solve the problem.

Thanks for your Answer. My poweram stands on the preamp, but with over 60 cm gap on the side sides and more than 20 cm above it. I believe this must be sufficient. I think I have to bring the amp back to my retailer and test it there.

LP12, Acurate DS, Exotic II pre, Majik p6100 power, Espek active (love them!). Genki, Karin pre, LK100, Sekrit free-standing speakers (sounds great!).

Yes better ventilation can address it but likely the issue is that you use very transparent pre/power amps from the current generation but two generations old source.
Ikemi is a great player (used one during 6 years) but the ADS has a LOT less distortion especially in the bass.
You are going to get a better controlled bass after the upgrade!

Good Luck

btw, with the ADS I think the odds are high you going to be a Linn Lover Smile

I have changed my source from the Ikemi to an Akurate DS and I think the improvement was amazing. And a few days ago I noticed that the system had not got overheated for a long time. I actually do not know if this is because of the new signalsource or because I have not played that loud lately. But don't misunderstand me: I bought the original Linn system because of its "quality in sound". With my new DS as a signal source this quality hs been an even better argument for buying Linn.

Thanks for the update after all these years!

Another proof for "source first".

Tune dem and source first rules!
