For checking bass drum "woofiness" and subwoofer integration - Nelly Furtado, Te Busque. Should be quite easy to spot if it's not quite on the money.

I understand what you mean, but I really don't like the song. Brrrrr.

It's from a compilation album, not exactly a fave of mine either. In fact I don't think I've ever played it before. It appeared on a random playlist so pure chance!

RE: New Bass Reference Track
A couple of tracks from the album "Defected Presents Charles Webster Disc 3: Studio"

"21st Century Blues (Original Mix)" by Charles Webster as one of his many alter egos "Lo;rise" - probably on other albums. Throbbingness.

Ready (Unreleased Vinyl Mix) by Charles Webster - also on the album "Born On the 24th July" - the mix is not so important on this one. There's a really tight "kick drum" and an underlying set of sweeping bass chords. Also has one of my favourite opening lines.

Plenty of other tracks on this album that are relevant to this thread and the imaging one.

Main: N1ZH, AK/0/D; AEDSM; MeiCord AEBox/1; Silvers 2x A4200/1; K400 NSL Exakt dual-mono PMC Twenty.26; Twenty.C; Blacks AV5125 PMC Twenty.21
Playroom: SBT; V-DAC1; Cyrus6; M773e
Garage: SBT/Rega DAC; Arcam AVR100; 2x AV5125; Aktiv Ninkas, Trikan, SeKretan

Another interesting track is Holly Cole's version of the Paul Simon song "One Trick Pony", nice bass track all the way through.

Majik DS/1, LK140, Kan MK1, K200, Linn Silvers

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but "Convergence" by "Malia" is a stunning album for several reasons let alone the bass. She is new to me and I look forward to hearing more of her stuff.

Majik DS, Inneos CD ripper, Simon Price Oak LP12, Black Ittok, Lingo3, Circus, Tranquility, Dynavector 20X2L, Lehman black signature phono, Exotik pre amp, x4 LK100 power amps, Keltic Aktiv speakers, Ikea rack, Cadenzas on phono, Cadenzas and Linn silvers connect the 6 amps, Chord Odyssey II.

Yes, a quite excellent album. It's actually mostly Boris Blank with Malia as guest vocalist - search for him too.

Agreed. I think you might find that Boris Blank and Yello are more to your taste. Try 'Touch' and 'Toy' albums by Yello as a relatively gentle introduction to their work. Toy features a couple of tracks with Malia, one which is a more upbeat reworking of a track from Convergence. Malia also featured in the live Berlin concerts now on blu-ray and high res download. Malia's solo work and work with other artists is very different.
Great singer and a lovely person, being very tolerant of weirdos.
