RE: Corian Sub Chassis
I have a Corian shelf that fits my Audiotech stand for my TT. Only trouble is it sounds terrible. Corian used for a sub chassis though may be ok, who knows. If anybody cares to try I'm willing to listen.

RE: Corian Sub Chassis
Only posted it for interest.
Think its amazing that just when you think every thing has been tried someone comes leftfield...

RE: Corian Sub Chassis
Corian is a very interesting material , as I understand its a mixture of acrylic and aluminium powder ,hard and inert . Many on the Green forum have used it to replace the glass shelfs on their racks . Sencha says he has tried it under his LP12 , though with little joy, something I have considered . I know a small number of Linn dealers have stocked Audio Italia Corian equipment racks tailer made for Linn electronic components . Maybe it works as a shelf under amps etc. That's a maybe. I'm not sure I would use it for a sub chassis . Can't help but think sub chassis should not be damped and Corian is inert and lets not forget part acrylic . However the honey comb machining has merit .
I would like to try an aluminium ,honey comb machined shelf and LP12 Base Board .

Just my opinion, Regards Martin

RE: Corian Sub Chassis
I've fitted one and it's an improvement over the standard chassis.

Trouble is the subchassis is not supposed to be inert

Err, I think you'll find the Keel is pretty inert.

Nope! Look at the Linn video comparing the keel to the kore. One of the plus points for the keel was that it rang more than the kore. The subchassis has to allow energy transmission rather than damp it to enable the closed loop design to work

RE: Corian Sub Chassis
Correct, one of the best ways to kill an LP12 is to add damping to anywhere , particularly the subchassis.
The Keel rings like a bell.
