Thanks for the update.

Concerning Hobbits. They dressed in bright colours, being notably fond of yellow and green; but they seldom wore shoes, since their feet had tough leathery soles and were clad in a thick curling hair, much like the hair of their heads, which was commonly brown.

And the birds up on the wires and the telegraph poles
They can always fly away from this rain and this cold

Any more information on the Wilmslow speakers - they are my go-to guys for replacement drivers and tweeters.

I'm assuming that Linn wouldn't stretch to a second Equity licence for Philbo?

Had a look at the other WAM TV clips - oh dear, there but for the Grace of God ...! Smile

Some SEAS tweeters that were 'lying around the factory' and what look like series 5 mids. Scanspeak subs. (Although the brand of tweeter and sub might've been the other way around.

(2017-02-24 17:32)liddellj Wrote:  Hi everyone. For those of you who are not already aware, Linn will be exhibiting at the HIFIWIGWAM Show this year to introduce Exakt.Design (https://exakt.design). Exakt.Design allows you to design your own Exakt Crossover for a loudspeaker of your choosing - whether that be improving the performance of an existing loudspeaker, or designing your own.

Your Exakt Designs can be deployed and run in any Exakt Engine. In addition to the Linn Exaktbox, we are keen to support, and would like to gauge interest in, alternative platforms such as a VST plugins and foobar2000 components.

Exakt.Design is currently invite only, and attendees of the show will receive an exclusive invite.

At the show we will be giving demonstrations, and running workshops for those who are interested in a more hands-on walkthrough of the app.

Our session timings are as follows:

Saturday 18th March (preview for exhibitors only)
  • 15:00 - 15:30 Demonstration
  • 15:45 - 16:45 Workshop

Sunday 19th March (open to all show attendees)
  • 10:15 - 10:45 Demonstration
  • 11:00 - 11:30 Demonstration
  • 11:45 - 12:30 Workshop
  • 13:30 - 14:00 Demonstration
  • 14:15 - 14:45 Demonstration
  • 15:00 - 15:30 Demonstration
  • 15:45 - 16:30 Workshop

We have limited places so to avoid disappointment, please let us know if you are planning to attend by emailing hello@exakt.design.

Foobar2000 is certainly a very interesting avenue for me. Not sure I understand how it would be configured to run with foobar though. I assume it replaces the DS and packages up the data stream in the proprietary "Exakt" format to the Exaktbox, via a supplied Linn plugin? Maybe?

That would be interesting if possible. If I could somehow stream to an Exaktbox from music stored internally on my MacMini (for example) I wouldn't need to invest in an Exakt only DSM. That would make "giving it a go" a lot easier.

ADSM/1 -> 4200/1 x 2 -> Aktiv 109's

RE: Linn Launching Exakt.Design at HIFIWIGWAM 2017
I don't think you even need an Exaktbox - just a multi-channel dac. Don't quote me though, I could well be wrong Rolleyes

ADs/2 -> Klimax Exaktbox/1 -> Silvers -> 2xKCT/D -> K200 -> Ninka
Exaktbox Sub - BK Sub
