Thoughts on the best cable?

Yes, as commented, you must keep the cable lengths the same, so 2 x 9m.

I'd strongly recommend bi-wiring, and the longer the runs, the more so. And 9m is a relatively long run!

If you're not familiar with the idea of bi-wiring, see the last section of http://docs.linn.co.uk/wiki/index.php/FA...udspeakers

I suspect K40 cable would be ideal for you (and also looks very neat!)

Philbo has previously mentioned that he'd tried this with 109s (it was originally developed for the Kiko) and found it successful. This is a good enough recommendation for me.

If you do decide to do this, don't forget to remove the bass/treble links from the back of the 109s!

You have a great little system. On of my favourites Wink

Cheers,
Chris.

RE: New on the scene
Hi Chris, do you any preference for 1 x K40 or 2 x K20 when bi-wiring?

Never actually tried K40 personally (apart from on the Kiko of course!) but Phil has had good results with the 109s, and that's good enough for me.

Whoops - I see I made a typo in the previous post, and put K20 instead of K40. Corrected this now (the link was correct.)

Anyway, one run of K40 would certainly be neater than two K20s, and the twisted-pair construction is known to be less prone to EM noise pick-up, and therefore often sounds better (as with K400 & K600.)

Cheers,
Chris.

I followed your link for the K40 but the web page doesn't make it clear that this is a "twisted-pair construction"?

You also mention K400 and K600 both of which Linn have stopped making??

Unidisk SC | Majik LP12 | Trampolin 2 | Lingo 3.
Akurate DSM | Akurate Exaktbox 10 | 2 x Akurate 4200/1 | Keilidhs (tri-amp, dual-mono)
Raspberry Pi 2 Model B | IQAudio Pi-DAC+ | Audiolab 8000A | Acoustic Research AR28s.

RE: New on the scene
Ok thanks - so good info here on cables. Hear the message - keep the 2 runs the same length.

I need a white cable, so i need to look at the offerings

Funnily enough, i have two runs of old K400 somewhere in the loft, way too short for this application. i should probably sell them!!
