I will never understand Klimax owners. There are so many of them who always get unhappy when things improve.

Equally Tin, I'll never understand comments such as the above - what better use for an otherwise redundant Exaktbox?
My livingroom? Or, if you feel somewhat less generous, Audiowoof? Tongue

Guess you could try an exakt active center in your system, whilst keeping the analogue L R (if Linn enable the software for the AE10). Would be an interesting comparison to the single solo/d...

Centre: K340 + 4200/1; L & R: Komri + 2xSolo/1 + 4200/1; Sub: Paradigm Sub 2; Rear: E350A; Source: KDSM
Visual: Sony VW1100ES Projector + Panasonic 4k DVD player

Great idea in principle, but sadly not possible on two counts....
1. As you say, An AEbox10 will not, at the time of writing, run a 225
2. According to Linn Docs, in any Exakt surround setup, FL and FR must be present.

KDSM Mk3>Solos>242Mk3, Solo/D>225, Rears: 2200D > 109s, M&K MX350 Sub (Netgear ReadyNAS NV+, Oppo 105, Anthem D2v)
2nd setup - Sneaky, Elderly Majiki, 109s, M&K VX7 Sub

That's the way I read it Simon - you've got to have the foundations (FL/FR) of the (Exakt) surround system and then you can add to it - but you can't add the foundations (non-exaktly) to the "additionals" (Centre in this case)

RE: AEbox10 Surround
It seems there is a reason for this: the Konfighobbit has to manually configure all possible permutations of hardware configurations in Konfig, which also seems to be the underlying reason that an AEBox-6 can, and AEBox-10 can't be used for centre speakers.
I hope that Linn finds a way to give themselves, and us, more degrees of freedom, but I guess the underlying design choice is quite sturdy and hard to work around.
Maybe the different type of FPGAs being used have something to do with it, or maybe it is just a thing that just happened when they started building Exakt.

I wonder if katalyst will take care of the mentioned issues?

Interesting idea, but your guess is as good as mine.
I hope they're able to fix it though; the Konfighobbit has a lousy job right now and I'm sure he'd rather focus on the permutations of 2nd breakfast instead.

RE: AEbox10 Surround
Getting back to the group after a couple of email exchanges with the Linn boys.

Being able to use the AEB10 for the 225 is in the works, no timeline but reading between the lines a bit I'd venture a guess of less then two months... fingers crossed!

Akurate ADSM/1. Akurate Exaktbox 10, 2X 4200, 2200, Akurate 242's. 2nd Akurate Exaktbox 10, 5100, Akurate 225. 5100, 104C's. ExaktBox Sub, Sunfire HRS12. Oppo 203.

This is good news Smile No rush for me personally though as I tend to do most of my serious movie viewing in the autumn/winter months but nonetheless great to know it will be an option - eventually.
