So important is the switches and routers, under certain circumstances the NAS, proper power supplies get.
We use the Friwo Medical power supplies. In addition, the above devices should all outphase.
The sound enhancement is incredible. See also: https://forums.linn.co.uk/bb/showthread....ight=Friwo

Brian has a lot of knowledge.

RE: Meichord
I don't understand the concept of a better Ethernet cable. Ethernet cables meet a defined standard. Some Audiophile cables are not up to standard so could be deemed worse.

I guess we all hear what we hear. I've limited experience of listening to different digital cables, but could hear no difference between Ethernet cables in a demo. I use Supra because they look nice. A few years back I had access to different switches & couldn't hear a difference between HP, Juniper, Cisco & TP-Link. I use HP at home because it seems to have the best build.

To me adjusting Space makes a dramatic difference: changing digital cables or switches makes no audible difference. However, I could hear no difference between Melco & QNAP in a quick demo so it may be I'm not sensitive to some of the differences others hear.

RE: Meichord
Unfortunately one can hear the differences also with network cables. Technically, there is probably something we or I do not know.
But one example I can give CAT7 cables can transmit a higher bandwidth, but the narrow wire guide in the connector can not transmit that. Some network connectors are therefore wider and the wires are very cleanly separated.

Shielded cables do not sound similar to power cables or sockets. I guess that is something like an echo. Now radiate all devices in the network cable, according to Linn is prevented or mitigated by twisted pair here it could be the cheap cable since not so exactly built.
