RE: Opinions on Kan MK1
Also; Can you imagine if there was someone clever enough to build kans to the old 80's spec and be able to get them in Aktiv (to use with current amps) and also be able to use SO!

I for one would be very tempted!

Some enterprising soul could make a living here.

Go on then Eddie ...

...what are you waiting for Big Grin

[I agree with everything you said about Kans .
They still have a certain magic that sets them apart ]

RE: Opinions on Kan MK1
If it was to be done, then it would make sense to build the crossovers into an external brick as Naim did with the SBL. Passive version.

To go active simply unplug the passive crossovers and add a Snaxo 2-4-2 configured for Kans ( still available from Naim ) plus 2 X 135 NAP power amps and a Supercap to power the Snaxo.
A few more metres of NAC A5 speaker cable and a killer system would be the result.

Sadly I haven't got the time to build them, cos everyone would want a pair once the word got round.

RE: Opinions on Kan MK1
So, I have been listening to the Kan MK1 for about a month now and really enjoying them. At this point they are being driven by a Sneaky. Should the phase be inverted on the speakers?

Thanks for quick reply! I think my next upgrade will be to add some more power and bypass the internal Sneaky amp.

What amp are you adding? I missed a deal on a LK 140, so I am still trying to figure out the best, affordable option.

RE: Opinions on Kan MK1
First ever Linn Speaker, amazing little set of boxes, better you drive them the better they get....
I would snaffle up that pair, treat them to a decent set of cable, I had mine bi-wired with k20 cable, and I almost guarantee you will not be disappointed ?

LP12, Renew, KK in Black, Tunebox full of cards, LK140 X3, Klout on the Mid, Keltiks, lots of Silver Linn Cables, thick grey expensive cable under the floor boards AKA K600.
And a lot of Dummies books on IPads, Home networks and Windows 8

RE: Opinions on Kan MK1
I will be adding an LK 140 in the next few days so I am excited to hear how the Kans sound with some power behind them. Thanks to everyone for the great feedback, I will post my thoughts after hooking them up.
