SO: Visualising room-modes with Augmented Reality
This video showing a measurement tool implemented with Apples upcoming augmented reality tech made me think about the implications for Space Optimisation:

This would make it much easier to measure ones rooms dimensions - if accuracy proves tolerable. Eventually it would be very cool if Linn made its own AR-App that allows measuring room dimension as well the visualisation of room modes in 3D space. This would help trying different speaker and furniture positions without having to move the real objects.

I like that they say it gets "surprisingly accurate results". Like they didn't think it would....?

Visualizing room modes is a great idea.

There are some websites with room mode calculators that already do that. An AR tool is not really required. To have one that reflects the own listening room would be cool.

Not required but pretty cool. Also could show room-modes with SO switched on & off.

Imagine doing this with Linn speaker models:

520/530 are furniture anyways & perhaps Linn could add a WAF-button automatically positioning and clothing the speakers according to room style Wink

Not least one could see Komris at home while playing 109s Wink

Interesting stuff.

When I travelled over to Europe the last two times I brought along a laser distance measure, which can be a hassle with security at the airports.

If this works, would make life easier.

Thanks McGillroy.
