I spent hours trying to figure out the Linn Tonearm pecking order.
Is there a thread describing them?

this is what I found so far:
Linn Basic 175.00
LINN Akito 350.00
LINN Akito 2B 800.00
Linn Ekos 1300.00

That's a good start...Current arms for sale new are Ekos SE and Akito
The Ekos also has older versions, the original Ekos and then the Ekos 2.

The Ekos replaced the Ittok which also had several versions. These are all excellent arms that were designed with the LP12 in mind.

I'll let some one else take over from here...Smile

Original 1978 Fluted Afromosia LP12, Ekos 2, Lyra Kleos SL and lots of other stuff from the 70's that still work fine.

It was the top of the line until replaced by the Ekos.

Stay away from the Japanese Akito 1, they are prone to sticky bearing.

Picked up my tonearm today. How do you insert the large pictures in the thread?

Looks like the older version with the two-part counterweight, now take it to your Linn dealer, inspect that the bearings are working properly, fit the Evo, transfer the tonearm to the newer 5 layer laminated armboard and......Voila!!!! Big Grin
