RE: Connecting products-Chakra Amp-Unidisk
If the Unidisk is either a 1.1 or a 2.1 you will also need to have a pre-amplifier in the system, otherwise you could only listen at a fixed (very loud) volume.
The Unidisk SC has pre-amplifier functionality built in.

Dan

Dan,

Exceptionally fine point there. I had assumed an SC but you are absolutely right if not an SC then Murph needs a pre-amp too for volume control. On the other hand if a Motorhead fan than maybe the preamp is optional

Hi
thanks for the information.
I connected as per your information last night and got volume through the Katans controlled from the Unidisk but no volume through the Index Speakers. Not sure where to go from here now

You will only get sound from the Index speakers when the original sound format is surround sound.

RE: Connecting products-Chakra Amp-Unidisk
It is worth checking the setup menu (when connected to a TV) to ensure that the speaker channels are all enabled correctly, refer to pages 8-11 of the user manual available here: http://docs.linn.co.uk/wiki/images/c/cf/...l_rev3.pdf if you don't have a paper copy
There is a test tone generator which will help you to verify that you have the settings correct.

You could also try using the Dolby Pro-Logic II surround sound mode. see page 29 for information on how to select this.

Best

Dan

RE: Connecting products-Chakra Amp-Unidisk
More fundamentally the question is whether you are looking to use the Index speakers for surround sound or are they in another room and you simply want stereo out of both pairs of speakers? We need more info from you Murph.
