Christine and the Queens album, song: Christine

When set up well, the electronica pulses out of the speakers towards the listener, leaping well beyond the dimensions of the speaker cabinet. With each dynamic pulse of music, the song dances.

There are also layers of music and detail reproduced on this track.

It is a very challenging track to get right, but you will be rewarded if you do.

I'll have to invest in the extra tracks then, I love that album. I only bought the standard one though. I have no idea why.

Ahh, now I know. Christine is the French language version of Tilted. Still, j'aime la langue francaise, alors, pourquoi pas.

You are a show off all this bilingual stuff

I'm not that kind of linguist. Certainly no bilingual. I mostly make it up from scraps of memory and past experience Wink
I have an interest in linguistics and language as an abstract concept though. And music is a language too.

RE: Soundstage reference tracks
A couple more for you to try, particularly if you're feeling in a kinda sunset-at-the-cafe-mambo-ibiza kinda mood:

Caterpillar (Atjazz Remix) by Amana Melome on the album Cielo Playtime Disc 1 - claves and the various shaker style noises placed very precisely.

Voice of Core by Sofa Sweeper on the album Ibiza Chill Session 2009 - allsorts of whispery voices popping in and out of the mix, precisely place percussion plus more stuff that sounds like it was generated by Q recording, swooping out into the room and around behind your head.

For 'troll - all as experienced on my system. Your imageryage may vary Smile

I find the bass line comes out to the listener then sucks back towards the speakers as each note fades. What, on a lesser system might sound like handclaps is actually a very complex sound that sits in only a small space in the middle of left to right but back behind the speakers, spreading a little as it explodes and then echoes/fades.

The song caterpillar can be found on Qobuz on several other albums, just search for 'Melome' and it'll pop up.

The same remix occurs on 3 or 4 albums, not counting yours which Qobuz doesn't have.
It's a really nice track. Wink

Well duh, that goes for all music, but this one is quite gentle actually.
