96/24 Flac, Squeezecenter+squeezeplay+sqweezyds+Sneakymusic DS

Hallo, I'm waiting for my new Sneaky Music DS to be delivered. In the meantime I'm organizing my library and trying to setup everything in order to be "ready" when the Sneaky arrives.
Since I own a mac (and use it everyday), I think the best option to use the sneaky is via Squeezecenter+Squeezeplay+Skweezyds. I also bought myself Ipeng for Iphone.
Everything seems to go smoothly (even tough for the moment I don't know if the sneaky will be correctly recognised by Skweezyds), except for 2 things:

1. When I play a 96/24 flac, after some 44/16 file, the music speed is altered...well..it's way slower than normal. If I REplay the same file the speed is normal....do someone no how can solve that?
2. When I look at the file properties of a 96/24 flac, in the bitrate part i read "2800 kbps VBR converted to 705,6 kbps ABR". That's kinda strange....It seems that the file is converted in some way, but I don't like it at all! I want to hear to the original file!
I don't know if it has something to do with squeezeplay....what do you think?

Hi Aedus!

Can't say that I've experienced this issue with music from my library yet (had this happen once when streaming internet radio, though). As SqueezeBox Server transcodes for Squeeze devices, it's possible that it may have gotten a bit confused when switching (or not) between various bit rates.

Rockfather (the author of the SkweezyDS plugin you'll use once your Sneaky arrives) has assured us Squeeze fans via many posts in these forums that the transcoding I previously mentioned does not occur between the various Squeeze elements and the DS...... i.e. - music files are streamed to the DS at their native bitrates regardless of what SqueezeBox Server does on behalf of Squeeze devices.

However, streaming internet radio is transcoded between SqueezeBox Server and the DS, which is probably why I've only experienced your first issue with internet radio and not my local music files.

Anyhow, I'm lovin' the SqueezeBox Server/SoftSqueeze/SkweezyDS/iPeng setup....I hope it works out just as well for you!
