GUI/NAS/DS trouble
On both my laptop and Q1 the LinnGUI can find the DS, though not the NAS server to play anything.
My Bute DS came with LinnConfig 1.3-0.3 and LinnGUI 1.3-0.6. I'm also using the standard UPnP AV 1.0 that came in my Netgear ReadyNAS Duo. A networking-God friend of mine installed Cidero MediaController 1.5.3, which found my NAS immediately, and I was stunned speechless when he in a couple of seconds got it to play one track (unfortunately from a quality point of view one of the few mp3s I had FLAC'ed). Unfortunately I've not even been able to get the MC to play anything since, even when seemingly doing the same selecting tracks and adding them to the 'media renderers' playlist. Also I would much prefer to use the LinnGUI. Any similar experiences, thoughts and/or suggestions. Vast quantities of thanks in advance. RE: GUI/NAS/DS trouble
Warren - try downloading the Twonky server add-on - you can trial it for free for 30 days:-
http://www.twonkyvision.com/Download/4.4..._4.4.5.bin - and install it on your NAS to see if it works. I've had my Duo for a whole twenty-four hours now(!) but it runs Twonky and I have no problem 'seeing' the server from LinnGUI, Nokia Media Streamer or Leia DS (the latter two running on my Nokia N800). Your problem may be the pre-installed AV server; Linn make no mention of using this; instead they appear to suggest Twonky as a solution. Mick. EDIT: I just started up the onboard NAS uPnP server but can't see it from LinnGUI... mickc Wrote:Warren - try download the Twonky server add-on Done. There also seem to be 3. The one you mentioned, a .zip and a .sh version. mickc Wrote:install Twonky on your NAS How? AFASU the NAS is a x86 Linux box. I get I can untick the firmware UPnP software so it stops running, but how do I install software on it that it will run. Edit 1: Ignore - found instructions. Figures crossed. Edit 2: Got it working. After 4 hours playing GUI lost DS. Edit 3: Got it working again. Warren stop playing with IP address auto-allocation.
