Apple Time Capsule or Gigabit router

Apple Time Capsule or Gigabit router
Does anyone have experience with a gigabit router, specifically Apple, either the Time Capsule or the Airport Base Station (or any other that will work with a cable modem - virginmedia in my case)?

I want to have gigabit switches on my network both for file transfers and backups inclusing the DS and my readynad, but there seem little point if the router does not have a gigabit port. I cannot see any netgear products with this facility so naturally thought of Apple though their prices are typically high Rolleyes

Thanks for any ideas, warning etc

Mark

I use a Belkin gigabit wireless router and netgear gigabit switches. I also did the upgrades mainly for backup purposes. I backup my Netgear NAS drive to USB drives on my PC. I had no problems setting up and the speed across the network is pretty fast.

Netgear do make gigabit wireless routers: http://www.netgear.com/Products/Routersa...R3500.aspx

Hope this helps.

Paul,

Thanks for coming back to me on this. Do you use the GS605 switches?

I use two different switches - I have two GS605s and a GS108.

Cheers
