OpenID Logins

We've had reports of some users having problems registering with their OpenID log-ins.

If you wish to use your OpenID on this system, then you should check with your OpenID provider that it can satisfy the following requirements:

1) Supports OpenID 1.1 consumers
2) Supports requests for "email" address
3) Supports requests for "nickname"

The providers we have identified as working are myopenid.com and pip.verisignlabs.com.

Other providers may work, but many do not honour item 2 above.

Some tips for logging in with myopenid.com
1. Ensure that one email address is provided in the OpenID persona when you allow access to your details from forums.linn.co.uk
2. When filling in your "persona", ensure that the checkbox next to the email address is ticked.
3. Ensure that you also supply a nickname (greater than 3 charaters long), or no nickname.
4. Ensure that you type your full OpenID URL into the log-in box.
