Show us your LINN system

RE: Show us your LINN system
My study system - bookshelf speakers on, shock horror, a bookshelf!

I've had the setup for a little over a month now, and I am so pleased with it. I actually listen to far more music on this system than the main system, as this is where I work during the day.

I've heard the MDSM into 109s many times in the showroom (we have that system in our meeting area), but having that setup at home has really made me appreciate what a spectacular system that it really is. Pound for pound, it is very tough to beat - I have already said that if everything went horribly wrong in life and we had to sell things, we're keeping that system as I could easily live with that as my main system.

High-gloss black finish is lovely - bit of a dust magnet though, and the cleaner is under strict instructions not to touch any bits of the audio gear, so it's my job to keep them clean.

RE: Show us your LINN system
Hi Marcus,

Lovely systeem indeed, it almost asks Linn for introducing high-gloss finish on electronics as well.
Did you ever think of decoupling the 109s by cones or something similar?
And no temptation for an addiotional 4100 plus active cards....that's what these 109s were made for, isn't it?
Maybe then you wouldn't listen to your main system at all...Big Grin

Cheers,

Marco

I'm going to try several things - they are currently (in this photo they were on jaycloths to stop them getting scratched!) on neoprene pads, which seems to work very well.

Being a fiddler, I did pop the Klimax Twin in there for giggles - bad mistake!!!

It was just awful. The worst thing I have ever heard.

I just keep repeating this to myself and one day I hope I will believe it.....

No - I am very happy with it as it is at the moment and the piggy bank is pretty skinny currently, so Aktiv is not on the cards - yet!

Great system. I had my monitors on my main system on a similar shelf and made a huge difference when I moved them to stands, espeically with elminating turntable rumble.

Then again, I have my Tukans on my tall boy dresser top with my Classik.

If you can't do stands, use a set of Polipods under your speakers, will make a huge difference.

Wow, you got hold of one of these quick, they only came out last week. Did you compare them directly with a pair of Solos?

RE: Show us your LINN system
Looking at the system on the previous page: the KDS is gorgeous isn't it? All the Klimax stuff is very pretty of course, but the KDS is the real looker.

ADS + loads of stuff people here don't care about

Bad shot but a fantastic amp. Stunning!
Like a source upgrade, giving a lot more meaning to the music.
Beats non Dynamiked Solos IMHO.

Have a look at putting them on Linn wall brakit's. I have mine on them and they sound brilliant.
