RE: Cleaning Paper
Any advantages to using Silly Putty instead of those gel-like thingies like Extremephono's or Onzow's?

I don't have direct experience with this but one of my customers had bought the Zerodust before we told him about Silly Putty. He bought the Silly Putty, tried it and said he felt it worked better.

RE: Cleaning Paper
I have the extreme phono stylus cleaner - seems to work fine in conjunction with the green stuff, and you wanna see the crud that has come off the stylus. Never tried silly putty...

RE: Cleaning Paper
Thomas, I wonder if it just worked better or if there was any issue with residues or something like that.

qtws, I also have extremephono's and it does work fine, but having just gotten an Adikt (which is quite expensive for this student), all this talk of residues has made me nervous about using it.

I have adikt too - no problems with it at all: blow dust off, dunk in extremephono stuff x 4, with a couple of swipes of the green stuff at the start of each listening session.

No definitely not!!

I would go as far to say you need to get the 'original' silly putty which is pale orange in colour.

There is also something called 'color putty' in the UK, this is also not the same!

That's a shame. My wife works in an infants school, I could have had unlimitted access to the stuff.

eBay it is then...

RE: Cleaning Paper
Hi

Have not looked at this whole thread but I have just received a Dynavector DV20XH from Pear Audio and it now comes with two pieces of 3M green paper and instructions.I have an Olympus Microscope here for close up stylus examination, and have found the "Green Stuff" very effective for over 20 years so it's good to see Dynavector/Pear Audio endorsement.

Regards.
