K9 tracking weight
Just setting up my son's Axis. It still has a K9 cartrdge which has been checked under the microscope and is fine. It will get him going. It's years since I used this and I can't remember the tracking weight. 1.75/1.85 rings a bell. Anyone out there with a long memory?

RE: K9 tracking weight
According to the Linn K Series instruction booklet, the tracking force specification for the K9 is listed as 1.5g-2.0g. Overleaf the booklet informs us that:
"Optimum results are normally achieved using Linn tonearms at 1.7g-1.8g tracking weight.".

Yep, definately 1.7g. Although you could experiment a 1/10 either side.

Although the tip might be fine under the microscope, the rubber that holds the cantilever might by somewhat less than compliant after all this time, thereby not hearing the K9 anything like it originally sounded. Sad
Such is life.....

Mine tracks at 72 lbs and she's a black one (looks good with my system - as long as she stays away from my tonearm).

I guess yours and tokenbrit's must be the advanced model with a paws button?

I don't know that I'd say she has a paws button - seems like only the Play button tends to work (she is still a puppy but then labs are for a few years). I even have a difficult time finding the mute button at times!
