RS232 Akurate DS + Exotik (non DA)
The Linn Config and Linn GUI show just enough info to tease me into thinking I may be able to get the RS232 communication between the Akurate DS and my Exotik working. Alas, none of these commands actually work (Power, volume, mute, source select) on the Exotik from the GUI.
Dealer setup - so com/parity/baud/bidirectional communication all done right. Is this just not possible? Cheers, |

RE: RS232 Akurate DS + Exotik (non DA)
I have both an Exotik and Akurate Ds and the best I've been able to do is power-up and power-down the Exotik from the GUI.
No plans from Linn to support it.

Do you have the Exotik DA?
If not, what did you do in the setup that allows this level of functionality. I can't get any RS232 cooperation at all. Cheers, |

RE: RS232 Akurate DS + Exotik (non DA)
I've got a non-DA Exotik. In LinnConfig I selected a Klimax Kontrol as a preamplifier. When I power up the DS, the Exotik powers up and vice-versa. No volume or source selection though.

RE: RS232 Akurate DS + Exotik (non DA)
Thanks for the tip. I tried every other preamp in the menu but for some Murphy's Law type reason, not the Klimax. In addition to ON/OFF I see the MUTE button also works. Like you, no volume control though. If only we could hack that.
Cheers, |
