Nokia n800 linn gui setup
HI

I have now manged to get a pc , and a nokia n800 .

I allready had a wireless internet hub wich the n800 quicky found and im albel to surf the internet.

I have gone through the linn instalation guid but i cant find enywhere that says have to install the Linn gui on internet tablet.

Enyone that can guid me through seting the n800 up for a sneaky DS.

I must say that i find it very frustrating getting all of this advanced complicated network devices set up right .

The problem with linn releying on other manufactors to handel the control is it really just complicates things.

Its almost like the B-2 nuclear bomber wich is one giant wing that needs 123 computers controlling it ortherwise it would fall out of the sky.

the best computer systems is the most simple and intuiativ ones like the ipod/itunes platform , thats why its so succesful and have started a whole coulture.

Hi Cremona,
the Nokia N800 can be very confusing at first, and as you say, it is not obvious what you have to do. First, the N800 does NOT run the Linn GUI, you need to install a piece of software called MediaStreamer - this can be done with the Nokia's Application Manager (see under Settings) You'll be prompted to download the latest version and then install it - by default it is loaded into the Extras folder. There is also Canola 2 under development, but the last time I looked, it did not yet handle UPnP. Second, there are some settings you need to change to make the N800 work at its best with a DS. These are in Connectivity Settings, where under the General Tab you need to set the Search Interval for WLAN connections to "Never" and under the Idle Times tab, set WLAN idle time to Unlimited. Other things worth doing are to turn the screen brightness down to save power. I also leave my Nokia on all the time, but disconnect the WLAN connection when not using it, as this uses a lot of battery power.
