Help please - WMP12 problem
Can any of you DS/IT gurus help please?

I used to be able to stream from Windows Media Player 12 to my Akurate DS. Now when I try to do it using the "stream to" button at the top right of the window a new smaller window opens as normal, the text states that WMP is contacting the DS, the dot on the DS display flashes as though it's looking for an IP address, then the message "unexpected device error" appears on the laptop screen, and the DS display shows the standby symbol. It doesn't work anymore. (I have installed all the W7 updates by the way)

Kinsky desktop works normally.

Network consists of an Acer Easystore NAS, and HP laptop running Windows 7 all connected together with the Linn recommended components in the recommended manner.

RE: Help please - WMP12 problem
Just tried it with my DSI and WMP works fine. Running a fully up to date Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and up to date Cara... 3.9.1.

Did notice one thing though, when I select to stream a track to the DSI, the source changes from playlist to UPNPAV. I don't have this set as selectable - it just happens automatically.

I'm pretty sure the Akurate has the seperate UPNPAV source as well, have you tried selecting this manually before you stream from WMP?

Hi, I've been able to reproduce this and will get a fix for the next DS release.

Greetings Kubular.

My edition of Windows 7 is Home Premium and Linn Konfig and Cara are fully up to date.

My source too changes from playlist to UPNPAV and then the fault occurs.

I have tried as you suggested and selected UPNPAV manually before streaming and the problem persists.

Greetings Jim.

Thank you for picking this up.

ROOOOAAAR!!!

Now it's happening to me as well... doesn't even change to UPNPAV on it's own!

Jim, under what conditions did you manage to reproduce it? Do you know of a possible workaround? Was working fine until I reinstalled windows last week.

I want to stream my Yellowjackets without having to copy it to the nas unnecessarily. Sad

Jim

I've been using Cara 10 for ages but only today have I tried streaming via WMP12. It works!

Many thanks to you and the other nice people at Linn Products.

(Kubular. I hope that you see this)
