Help needed
Hi, up until now I've been using AAC files on itunes through my Onkyo. I have now purchased a new laptop and want to save all my CDs onto the laptop ready for the day i can afford to buy a DS.
I am looking for guidance on how to go about doing this. I believe i will be saving the files as FLAC files. Is there a program i need to download to do this. What other programs should i download for a basic set up i.e. for art work etc. ideally free software is what i would be looking for or a one off up front payment. Many thanks Chord Blu, Chord DAC 64, Modified Lenco GL75, Kairn, 2 x Quad 303's, Celef PE1 (as well as other bits and bobs). Many thanks, I am now using dBpoweramp and the files seem to be saving okay. However Windows Media Centre can't seem to find the files, Do I have to download another program to play the FLAC files?

RE: Help needed
VLC Media Player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc) or Foobar 2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/) can play FLAC files. They're both free downloads.

It looked a little complicated for my small brain plus it stated that certain info may be incorrect like running time so i've given this one a miss. Hi, i downloaded foobar and tried using it. it does play the file but with popping noises which can be heard quite clearly. not sure what the problem is. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I use a program called WINAMP to play music on my computer using the same library of FLAC files that I use with a LINN DS. I would not know for sure if this would work in the same way going through your receiver, but it seems like it should. I think the problem lies between the computer and the Onkyo as i've connected some headphones to the laptop and the blips aren't there any more so I think dBpoweramp has ripped the CD's okay.
