Has Anyone Set Up A Tidal Playlist?
Impressed with Tidal and I am now considering dumping Spotify. The main use I have is two fold, firstly for trying before buying and for "party" music which I have on playlist. The question I have has anyone set up a playlist for themselves, if so how? I have set up a playlist on my laptop but this doesn't seem to show in Kazoo, I could use songcast. According to the FAQ you should see a "new" option in playlist but this doesn't appear, but maybe that's a issue with Kazoo. Any ideas?

Unfortunately there is no personal Playlist support in the Kazoo client for Tidal. Yet. You could use Songcast and the Tidal app on OSX, not my favoured approach.

We use Qobuz and have simply stopped buying CDs - why would you buy if you have Tidal?

Depends if Qobuz or Tidal have the discs you want in their catalogue. Smile

I've tried both Qobuz and Tidal, and they have only about 3/4 of my Spotify album collection.

RE: Has Anyone Set Up A Tidal Playlist?
Re Playlists… after selecting your Tidal choices via Kazoo, consider firing up Kinsky, which recognises Tidal playlist content, and store a playlist in the usual way. The stored playlist can be any combination of locally streamed music and Tidal music. Subsequent retrieval via Kinsky continues to recognise Tidal content.

I will still continue to buy CD’s and downloads in order to store local content for devices on the move and to preserve permanent ownership.

But regardless, Tidal free trial much appreciated here.

Thanks I'll give it a go.

As a business I can understand what streaming sites must offer you. It is good quality and anyone coming through your door can probably be catered for musically when asked what they want to listen to. For me the down side is for the musicians who get very little payback. A lot of people think that if you release a CD then you are going to make a fortune. How would you feel if Linn/Naim announced they were going to deal with an on line seller who could offer big discounts. Streaming may be the future for consumers but the future for musicians and music must be a concern.

Some of us poor folks living out in the sticks can only get crap broadband so streaming is not a viable solution. I often cannot listen to internet radio as it frequently drops out, 128k is usually OK but 320k if often too much. I havent even bothered trying Tidal......

Konfig includes an option to allow you to reduce the quality of Tidal streams to 320k or even 96k AAC. The DS has also additional buffering to allow for temporary drops in throughput. You could use the free trial to experiment with these different rates to see what level of performance your internet connection can manage.
