Upgrade over Wi-Fi
This may seem obvious in retrospect. But only upgrade your firmware using a wired connection. I tried it over Wi-Fi and got the dreaded lightning flash on my DSM. Re did it over wired and fine. Thought I'd bricked it though, never again. Love

Akurate DSM, Klimax Twin & 242s (ver1) for music. Adding Yamaha 5100, Sizmik, 225 centre, Majik 2400 & Keilidh rears for home cinema.

RE: Upgrade over Wi-Fi
Yes, I've seen this before - ukandrewf and I tried to install Exaktbox software where the laptop was connected by wifi and it failed. Worked fine over a wired connection to the laptop.

But, some will say bits is bits and it all works flawlessly of course. Except when it doesn't.
