Me neither, even though I only spend 3k with an trade-in and the 2015 offer.

Talk to your dealer.

But: in the end these things happen all the time, last years computer is last years computer. A DS is a computer with a fancy enclosure and a good analoge section.

I know that but now really thinking about to listen to a Naim streamer. We will see...

RE: Linn Majik DSM/3 price
Don't see why this is not good news from a consumer point of view. As Linn offers 5 years factory guarantee within the EU, buy at a Dutch or Austrian dealer for this bottom price while enjoying all the securities.

Naturally in 5 years there will be another situation for UK buyers (..Brexit..) but from personal experience Linn streamers hardly ever break down.

RE: Linn Majik DSM/3 price
Surely a price reduction is great news as more music lovers can buy MSDMs. I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy my MDSM for quite a while now & not upset if others can now afford one. Why should I be?

Worth having a listen. I used to own one, but now a very happy MSDM owner. After struggling with Naim, I was amazed when I plugged in MSDM & it worked without any fuss. Sounds much better to me as well. If you want to hear an alternative to Linn then I’d try Chord Electronics. True Naim holds its price, but for me the sound quality & ease of use are more important. Of course, you may prefer the Naim sound.

I wouldn’t worry about pollitics: if you have MSDM you can listen to some great music instead. At least that’s what I do, now the cricket season’s finished.

RE: Linn Majik DSM/3 price
Naim have gone the opposite way and have hiked the price of the new Uniti range again. The Atom was £1600 when first available to pre-order then it rose to £1750 and it is now £2000. Seems to be a pretty cynical ploy from Naim for a well received product.

RE: Linn Majik DSM/3 price
I like Germany's prices. I may be there next summer and I'll buy one there. US buyers rarely get breaks on prices, at least if drugs are being purchased. I just got back from a listening trip where we compared the Linn DSM to the Naim. If it was just a sound function decision I would have bought a Linn, but it's not. The Atom was $1,700 cheaper! That got my attention.

Per current UK pricelist MDSM+109 system = £3,955 = 4.4k€ quite a bit under 5k€. Expect 109 better suited to power amps in MDSM than 140? MDSM+140 = £4,765 = 5.3k€ so only slightly over (could probably negotiate that down to 5k€ anyway).

But agree Linn should bring prices down across all ranges and broaden marketing then they might sell a lot more. Can't see hiking prices each year + thin marketing is the key to successful long term survival in a structurally declining sector.
