Tagging FLAC
I could use some advice.

Is there anybody here that has some experience with manually tagging flac files? Auto tagging is not working as it should, so I was wondering how you do it.

Currently I'm using Tag on OSX, but it cannot add an image to the flac file. So I'm looking for an alternative.

RE: Tagging FLAC
Metadatics is a great app for tagging on OSX. You can update artwork, so search and replace, update large batches of files, etc. Are you downloading music or ripping from cd? If ripping, try dbpoweramp for your ripping app. It will get pretty good tag info from a variety of sources, and you can edit tags before ripping, then clean them up with Metadatics after ripping if necessary.

+1

It has some great "filename to tag" and "tag to filename" automation which can speed up the process immensely.

It’s an excellent program, but the OP will have to run it under Wine as he’s running a Mac by the looks of things.

RE: Tagging FLAC
I use dBPoweramp for most of my tagging (as I rip), but also use Meta tagging software if I need to fix something I missed later, or update genres, etc. It’s not free, but reasonable and easy to use.
This is on a Mac, running High Sierra.

Cheers,

John

RE: Tagging FLAC
For manually tagging I like Puddletag which has an OSX install via home brew.

I use XLD for ripping & initial tagging then clean up tags & artwork with Metadatics.
I use J River MC for everything else.
This combination does nearly everything I need & more.
I would like voice control at some stage.

Another very good tagging tool is Yate. You can drive it from the command line to do quite complex changes.
