Some New Year's cheer.
I think, DAT, DCC, MiniDisc & Elcaset were omitted because they never made it as consumer formats.

Blimey! Sad

Neither quality (vinyl) nor practicality (cd). Must be a hipster thing. Wink

RE: Some New Year's cheer.
Great system! Do you know Tom Manley? His whole life is focused on buying, refurbishing, and finding good homes for classic McIntosh. I used to trade in McIntosh myself during the early post tube (valve) era.

I have not run reel to reel since the 70’s though.

I do keep an old Denon 3 head cassette deck out in my shop system. I have a large number of personal cassette programs, including both music and spoken word. Many are irreplaceable. I suppose they’re candidates for digitization.

Keep up the good work!

LP12, Woodsong Woburn Abbey Oak Plinth, Tramp2, Cirkus, Keel, Radikal, Ekos SE/1, Lyra Delos, Uphorik, Krell KSP-7B, biamped Krell KSA-150s, ML Theos, ML 210 sub.
LP12, Greeves plinth, Cirkus, Kore, Mober Maxxon, Ittok LVII mk2, Ortofon MC-3 Turbo, CJ PV8 SE phono, CJ ET3 SE, CJ MF2550 SE, Thiel CS2.

But uniqueness! Everybody, including your old man, is buying vinyl. This is something different. Note there isn't a complimentary resurgence in high-end cassette decks, though. But if 8-Track makes a comeback we know the world is doomed.Wink

RE: Some New Year's cheer.
With the instant track access that CD etc. brought us I don't think winding tapes to find things will ever satisfy today's youth.
