Any Experience with Majik DSM Phono Stage Upgrade?
Im am very happy with the Majik DSM‘s built in MM input which is far superior - at least for my Thorens 126 with TP 16 and Ortofon VM Silver combo - to the external Musical Fidelity Phono Pre I used before buying the DSM.

However I cannot use any low output MC cartridge with this setup.

Has anybody tried the Majik DSM Phono Stage Upgrade?

How much is it?

I would like to keep the number of „boxes“ to the bare minimum so don‘t think the Linto is an option for me which cannot even be configured.

Stereo: Majik DSM/2 - Thorens 126 Mk III Centennial - B&W CM7
AV: Benq W2000 - Sony UHP-H1 - Apple TV - Amazon Fire TV

It's £330. I have the same board but MM, not MC. Never anything but great IMO.

♫ ♫ Rega RP1, [QNAP HS-251+, Jitterbug, MinimServer, Asset], Kazoo

Net: NetGear DGN2200 | GS108 | AQ Forest x3

Thanks for the price info.

I can see that you have an Akurate with a built in MC/MM Phono stage, is this really the same board?

So they say, no reason to doubt. Makes sense - why develop another switchable phono board that's only an upgrade option for Majik level, when one already exists?

OK, makes sense.
So looks like a reasonable investment Wink

Try the new Rega MC stand-alone phono stage. Good sound and value at a little over £240 or so. It’s also adjustable for different cartridge requirements.

I'm very happy with the MM stage on my Akurate EDSM (and Majik DMS), but was not equally impressed with the MC stage. I guess you can audition this at a dealer.

LP12, Keel, Radikal, Ekos2, Kandid, Urika1, AEDSM, Akurate Exaktboks, 2xM6100, Akubarik
Secondary system: Linn LP12, Ittok LVII, Adikt/2, MDSM/2,
M109

Sounds fine with my Dynavector , see sig. More air than the linto I had previously which by comparison gave a warmer, fatter sound to my ears

Cymbiosis Black Ash LP12, Cirkus, Hercules, Tramp2, Linn Ittok VII, DV20X(L), Renew ADSM, 2xMajik 4100D, Aktiv Misos, Black ICs, K40 speaker cable
