LP12 top plate - advise needed
If possible please advise what specific hexagonal socket nut driver bit should be used for tightening top plate bolt nuts. I've been looking all over the net for it and just cannot find it. I know it should be longer than top plate bolt itself which is I believe 60mm and it should fit m5 bolt size although I noticed that hex driver bits tend to use hx scale (is h5 the same as m5?) and I just cannot find m5 sized hex driver bit with depth of more than 60mm. If you could point me to the place where I could get it I would appreciate it.

Got mine from Sealey.
http://www.sealey.co.uk/PLPageBuilder.as...ctid=11886
It will do most fixings on the LP12 with the exception of the top plate fixings.
You would need one of these to do those..... https://www.milwaukeetoolstore.co.uk/pro...r-48222535

You need a standard 8mm nut runner.

Loricraft Garrard 401/Collinson/12"Bokrand-Ortofon/EMT TSD15 VdH. LP12 Wakonda/Black Ittok/Metak, LP12/Grace G707/Supex900 Super. 1973 LP12/SME3009/Shure V15/II. Castle Ariston RD11/SME3009/Ortofon MC10.

Thank you guys for your advise. I appreciate it. Like I wrote above though I am looking for the part that I would attach to Sturtevant Richmont CAL 36/4 (http://www.srtorque.com/error-proofing-t...-series/).

RE: Aligning LP12 top plate - advise needed
I’ve never seen anything with a 1/4” drive that would be long enough. Of all the fastenings on the LP12, that’s probably the one I can least see the need to tighten to a specific torque value. As long as it’s tight. However, on the assumption that you are using an SR CAL torque driver because Tom O’Keefe and/or Fred Lejonklou use them, then I suggest you direct your question to them. You’re probably aware that Tom is a regular contributor to this forum, so probably best to PM him directly.

BTW - your thread title is misleading, it’s nothing to do with aligning the top plate.

Thank you for your input. I changed the thread title and I hope this is OK for you now and it will not mislead anybody. I just wanted some help on this matter as for some reason this is difficult part to find. I will ask the guys directly as indeed they must have this piece.

This may help...https://www.cymbiosis.com/product/linn-t...t-up-tool/

Original 1978 Fluted Afromosia LP12, Ekos 2, Lyra Kleos SL and lots of other stuff from the 70's that still work fine.
